supersaturation

Sulfurization - heat treatment, which is subjected to, among others steel to stabilize austenite. Obtaining stable austenite increases the corrosion resistance of steel. It involves heating the steel to the temperature at which the austenitic transformation occurs, and then, as in hardening, rapid cooling. The difference between quenching and supersaturation lies in the fact that supersaturation avoids the occurrence of martensitic transformation. Therefore, the supersaturation can be used only for steels where the beginning of the martensitic transformation is lower than the ambient temperature, i.e. for high carbon steels or containing alloy additives that lower this temperature and stabilize austenite such as chromium. Filtration is usually used for stainless and acid-resistant steels. wiki

External costs

External costs are the costs borne by the environment as a result of the activity of a factor. This term is often used for different means of transport. So, while road and rail transport does not seem to be significantly different in terms of cost, after the addition of the environmental, human health or state-paid infrastructure, the gap is significantly increasing to the detriment of road transport. In order to take account of environmental costs, the state introduces environmental taxes, or "fees for the economic use of the environment". These fees are intended to promote clean technologies that have a lower impact on the environment and to penalize companies that emit all kinds of pollution to the environment. wiki

Anti-seismic construction

Anti-seismic construction is based on such construction of buildings that they can survive the effects of earthquakes without excessive damage to the supporting structure. Such design involves the use of mass inertia effect. This effect can be traced on a simple linear model composed of a large mass attached to a soft spring, the other end of which is subjected to rapid vibrations. The mass "does not keep up with" these vibrations and only makes small movements around its equilibrium. These small movements in practice only cause damage to the vibrating structure but usually do not cause its disaster. Bibliography wiki

Signal classifier

A classifier is an iconic sign that strongly imitates a designate, for example, the word stone is represented by a clenched fist, while the word human is - by the erect index finger of the other hand. Monika Dobrowolska and Joanna Łacheta list the following types of classifiers: Prepositional phrases in PJM are most often incorporated into one sign or expressed by a classifier. For example, a cat's head lies on my head and needs to blink as a sequence of characters: The distinguishing feature of classifiers from other signatures is also the lack of eye contact with the caller while they are blinking - the sender moves his / her eyes to his / her hands for the duration of the classifier message. wiki
