Rex Beach


Rex Ellingwood Beach (born 1 September 1877 in Atwood, died December 7, 1949 in Sebring) is an American writer, water footballer and Olympic medalist from the 1904 Summer Games in Saint Louis. With the Chicago Athletic Association he won the silver medal in the water ball tournament.

He attended Rollins College, Florida and later studied law at the Chicago College of Law and Kent College of Law. He briefly worked as a lawyer, then went to Alaska for gold. He soon began to write travel stories. His first song The Spoilers, tells the story of life in Nome. The writer's career brought him fame and fortune. Several of his books have been screened. In 1951 all his works were withdrawn from Polish libraries and censored. Bibliography
