Wladyslaw Kierzkowska


Wladyslaw Kierzkowska from Pisarska House; also known as Ada Kierzkowska (born May 23, 1923 in Lviv, June 4, 2016) - Polish artist specializing in artistic fabrics, pioneer of the Polish school of tapestry. Curriculum vitae

Between 1948 and 1949 she studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Sopot, and in the years 1950-1955 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She made fabrics in this mainly tapestry, stylistically close to the painting of lyrical abstraction. In 1962 she took part in the 1st International Biennial of Fabrics in Lausanne (Biennale Internationale de la Tapisserie), which contributed to the propagation of the Polish artistic fabric and their creators. Her works were presented in Warsaw Zachęta.
