Signal classifier
The sign classifier - according to Merry Brenno, is a hand shape that can be used to represent information about a particular class of features, such as shape, size, positioning in space. A classifier is an iconic sign that strongly imitates a designate, for example, the word stone is represented by a clenched fist, while the word human is - by the erect index finger of the other hand. Monika Dobrowolska and Joanna Łacheta list the following types of classifiers:
Prepositional phrases in PJM are most often incorporated into one sign or expressed by a classifier. For example, a cat's head lies on my head and needs to blink as a sequence of characters:
The distinguishing feature of classifiers from other signatures is also the lack of eye contact with the caller while they are blinking - the sender moves his / her eyes to his / her hands for the duration of the classifier message.
