Ivan Żegalin


Ivan Kuzmich Zegalin (Russian: Иван Кузьмич Жегалин, born 1906 in the Saratov Governorate, died April 13, 1984 in Moscow) - Soviet politician, diplomat, member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1952-1966). From September 1949 to December 1955 I Secretary of the Regional Committee of the WKP (b) / CPSU in Grozny, from 14 October 1952 to 29 March 1966 Member of the Central Committee of the CPSU, from December 1955 to 26 November 1960 First secretary of the Committee Regional CPSU in Stalingrad (now Volgograd). From November 27, 1960 to December 15, 1965, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR in Romania, 1966-1976 Deputy Minister of Construction, Transport and Agricultural Machinery of the USSR, then retired. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for 3 to 5 terms. Awarded with two Lenin Orders and the Order of the Red Labor Banner (April 11, 1947). He was buried in the Novodevice Cemetery.
