The Oath (wiersz Williama Vicarsa Lawrance’a)

The Oath - a poem by the American lawyer, prose writer and poet William Vicars Lawrance, published in 1889 by Riverside Press in the volume The Story of Judeth: a Tale of Bethany, with Poems of Home, Heart, and Hearth. The work consists of ten parts. "Swear it!" he said; "swear on this hand Over this heart that is throbbing beneath! Swear it ! Yes, swear, that the oath may stand, Nor perish away in the passing breath. There ! it is done ! Bound soul and heart, — Not to the evil, for no black art The struggling soul shall stain, but good, Good for thee and for me. Why should Thy cheek blanch white, as if a fear Pressed on thy footsteps darkly near? Bibliography wiki

Gospel of regular canons from Krakow

The Gospel of Regular Canons from Krakow - a codex from c. 1420 containing 107 Latin sermons, preceded by excerpts from the gospel with voices in Polish. The codex is the property of the library of regular canons in Krakow. The manuscript was written around 1420 in the Augustinian scriptorium in Kazimierz. Extensive Polish glosses form an almost continuous translation of the pericope from the Gospels of Matthew (5, 20-24), Mark (11, 1-3; 16, 1-7), and Luke (2, 42-52; 8, 4-15; 21, 25-27; 24, 13-35) and John (3, 16-21; 8, 46-59; 15, 26-27; 16, 1-4. 5-15; 18, 1-40; 19, 1 -42). There is a double interline between the verses of the Latin gospel, which suggests that the voices were planned at the manuscript creation stage. Voices are written in a mixture of Polish and Czech with the predominance of Czech elements. This may have been due to the fact that the copyist was of Czech origin, and used a former Polish translation which he modernized himself. According to another hypothesis, the...

Mega

Mega is a prefix of multiples of a unit of measure of physical quantities with a multiplier of 10 = 1,000,000 (one million), denoted by the symbol M. In computing, the mega prefix usually means 1 048 576 and is the result of 1024 · 1024 = 2, in contrast to the SI system, where 1000 · 1000 = 10 = 1,000,000. In order to avoid inaccuracies associated with this system, it is recommended using the prefix of binary mebi (short for the words mega binary), which in accordance with standardization means 1024 · 1024. In practice, however, an incorrect name has been fixed, and the lack of formal naming often causes misunderstandings in the interpretation of memory capacity. 1 MiB = 1024 KiB = 1024 · 1024 B = 1 048 576 B 1 MB  = 1000 kB  = 1000 · 1000 B = 1 000 000 B wiki
