Opilśń - a thick, silky mycelium layer covering the surface of the substrate produced by fungi. Fungus on the roots of plants creates, for example, fungi involved in mycorrhiza. Opilśń often also create parasitic fungi on the surfaces of infested plants, for example powdery mildew causing a disease called powdery mildew, or parasitic parasitism (Thanatephorus cucumeris) on the base of stems in potatoes infected by potato rizoktonioza.

A similar, but thin and delicate layer of mycelium is a coating.
