The canal is about 6 kilometers long, was built in the first half of the 19th century as a fishpond irrigation facility in Rybakówka hamlet, meadow above Drava and also a water pump in Głusk. The initiator of the construction was Friedrich von Sydow, the local landowner. The channel was taken from the southern branch of Ostrowiec Lake, which is called Głuchego, to the south, a deep-cut ravine, along the right bank of Płociczna, to Rybakówka (fish ponds). Here it turns north, flows from the west of Głusko and ends in the meadows above Drava, which watered. Currently it is mainly used for irrigation of fish ponds in Rybakka.
