Maria Brownsford
Maria Brownsford (born March 21, 1855 in Lubowiczki - died 29 October 1924 in Białystok - the then Kościan district) - teacher, educational activist. Curriculum vitae
She was born in the family of Antoni Brownsford and Rozalia Teresa Grabska of Grabi Pomian. She was educated at the school of sisters Ursuline. After graduating, she taught Polish language, history and religion at the girls' salons girls Danysz. After the ban on teaching Polish by the Prussian authorities in 1900 organized secret courses in private homes. After Anne's death Danysz took over the management of the school and was liquidated by the authorities in 1909. The secret teaching continued in 1908-1919 as chairman of the catechesis at Tow. St. Vincent de Paul and a member of the pedagogical section of the Society for the Care of the Polish Children "Warta". After regaining independence, she took part in the training of young teaching staff.
It was buried on November 4, 1924 in Poznan, in the Cemetery of Merit of Wielkopolska.
