Marceli Truchan


Marceli Jan Truchan (born May 14, 1935, 5 April 2013) is a Polish handball player, Polish championship medalist, Polish representative and sports activist. member of AKS Chorzów and Dynamit Chorzów clubs and Silesian Biathlon Association. Curriculum vitae

In his youth he was a handball player, initially in the 11-man version. He has performed in the colors of St. Kosciuszko Chorzow and since 1958 AKS Chorzów. With the AKS he won twice the bronze medal of the Polish championship in 1965 and 1966, and in the years 1958-1959 he twice played in the first team of Poland. In the 60s and 70s, he played in the colors of AKS with 7-man handball without much success. In the first half of the 70s he coached Konstal Chorzów, Wawelu Wirek and AKS. In 1976, he became Vice President of the AKS and in this role he participated in two titles of the Polish female champion of the senior team (1981 and 1982). In 1986 he became vice president of Dynamite Chorzów and devoted himself to biathlon. In 1992 he belonged to the founders of the Biathlon Association of Silesia, since 1994 he was its president and also served as vice president of Silesian Biathlon. Bibliography
