Jefim Aeksiejewicz Cheriepanov (Russian: Ефим Алексеевич Черепанов, born 1774, died 1842) is a Russian inventor. Miron J. Cheriepanov's father. Peasants, freed for their inventions. Together with his son he constructed the first in Russia a steam engine with a horizontal cylinder system and a boiler. They also improved the smelting of copper and pig iron and extraction of precious metals. The first Russian steam locomotive was built by them in 1834. It reached a speed of only 15 km / h.
