Zofia Kraczkiewicz


Zofia Kraczkiewiczówna ps. "Xenia" (born May 13, 1902, December 11, 1943) - MSc in Philosophy, head of the SZP-ZWZ-AK communications unit. Curriculum vitae Zofia Kraczkiewicz was born in Bystrzyca in Kijowszczyzna and was the daughter of Casimir and Florentine from Gasińska's house. She attended the Polish School in Rylski Caucus in Kiev. In 1922 she passed the secondary school diploma, im. Maria Konopnicka in Warsaw. In the same year, she began her studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw (with interruptions caused by the necessity of earning money), and in 1935 she received a master's degree in philosophy in French philology. As a teacher she worked in a private junior high school Malczewska. She actively participated in the defense of the besieged capital in September 1939. From the fall of 1939 in the conspiracy, in which she managed the internal communication unit of the organizational division SZP-ZWZ-AK. She was arrested in a "boiler" in Maria Liebich's apartment at ul. Raczyńska and then in the research in al. Torture. She was locked in shackles and kept in isolation on the Pawiak, but she did not reveal anything. Deported on 5 October 1943 to Auschwitz, where she died (camp number 64426).
