Prezbiofrenia
Presbyophrenia (presbiophrenia, Latin presbyophrenia) - a historic term for the definition of psychoses occurring in the elderly, an image of the amnestic syndrome with increased physical activity, elevated mood, confusion, confabulation, and superficially functioning properly. The personality structure seems intact, there is no deeper emotional disturbance. The term was created by Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum in 1863. Depending on the author, presbyofrenia was considered a separate nosological entity, a form of dementia, a form of Korsakoff syndrome or a entanglement syndrome. The concept has been losing popularity since the 1920s and is now completely abandoned, although some authors have raised its usefulness as a recognizable subtype of dementia syndrome.
