Bogdan Zalewski (historian)
Bogdan Zalewski (born May 10, 1954 in Mława, died December 10, 2013 in Gdynia) is a Polish historian, specializing in military history; academic teacher. Curriculum vitae
He was born in 1954 in Mlawa. In 1977 he completed his military studies at the Military Academy Officer's College. Stefan Czarniecki and historical studies at the. Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. In 1977 he took up military service at the Navy Training Center in Ustka. In 1984, as a captain, he was transferred to the Naval Academy in Gdynia. In 1988 he secured his doctoral dissertation, and in 2000 he obtained a doctorate degree from the University of Gdańsk. While serving in the Naval Academy, he held the post of Head of the Department of Humanistic Sciences at the Naval Navigation and Naval Arms Department and then Director of the Institute of Social Sciences. In 2004 he went to reserve as commander. As a Reserve Officer, he worked at the Naval Academy, the Naval Academy, the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk, the Higher School of Security in Poznan, and the Gdańsk School of Economics, where he was the rector.
