He took part in saving the dying passengers of the SS Czeluskin ship after the disaster in February 1934; together with Uszakow and Lewoniewski, he was directed to the US in order to purchase aircraft to rescue the victims of the disaster. Taking one flight, he took 5 drowning people ashore. In the years 1934-1935 he commanded the air force of the Institute of Scientific and Research of the Civil Air Fleet of the USSR, in 1939-1940 he was the head of the Academy of this fleet, in 1941 he completed courses at the General Staff Academy of the Red Army. In 1936 he became a colonel. From August 1941, he took part in the war with Germany as deputy commander of the 63th Aviation Brigade of the Military and Air Force of the Black Sea Fleet, from January 1942 he served in the Military and Maritime Fleet of the USSR, in 1946 he ended his military service. Later he dealt with literary activity. He was buried at the Nowodziewicz Cemetery. His name was called street in Moscow. Honors
