Jan Topass


Jan Topass (born April 5, 1873, Warsaw, after 1932) is a Polish literary and artistic critic.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and at the École du Louvre in Paris, where he settled permanently. As a critic, he served as an intermediary between Polish and French culture, writing for Polish readers about the forms of artistic life in France, and for French writers of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. He wrote, among others. book The Paths of Creative Souls. Silva and sketches (1913), devoted mainly to contemporary French painting, and a collection of studies on Polish literature Visages d'écrivains.
