Chamois (pond)

It was established at the end of the 16th century (or at the beginning of the 17th century) as an artificial flood of the Tygodienica river as a result of the tsar's sweeping of the dyke on the river. In the 1960s, as a result of the new dam construction, the pond was enlarged and now has a total of 325 hectares (186 hectares - the first reservoir (pond), 139 hectares - the second reservoir).

On September 6, 1939, the only modern Polish CANT Z.506 seaplan landed, was evacuated from the home of the Marine Airborne Division in Puck due to the need to install armaments. The moored seaplane in spite of the camouflage was discovered and on September 11, 1939 attacked by the Luftwaffe aircraft, resulting in the destruction of it, and its corps settled on the bottom of the pond.
