Antoni Dobiszewski ps. "Tramwajarz" (born May 25, 1895 in Goślicach, died October 16, 1942 in Warsaw) - Polish communist and trade activist, teacher.
In Warsaw, he continued his political activities; belonged to the Communist Party of Poland, headed an evening school for juvenile workers, was among the founders of the Workers' University in Warsaw (at Wolności Street); He defended the threatened dismissal of communist activists. He also conducted cultural and educational activities. In 1934 he was retired by the authorities.
After the outbreak of World War II, he became involved in conspiratorial activity. He was active in the Polish Workers' Party. In April 1942 he was arrested by the Gestapo. After a six-month prison in Pawiak together with 50 other members of the resistance movement, he was killed in a public execution in Warsaw (October 16, 1942).
In 1946, he was posthumously awarded the Order of the Third Class Grunwald Cross. Antoni Dobiszewski's name was given to elementary school and XLIV Secondary School in Warsaw (at Dolna Street). Bibliography
