The Barry Sisters


Merna Pine (born 1923, October 31, 1976) and Claire Easton (born October 17, 1920, November 22, 2014), born as Minnie and Clara Bagelman - American klezmer singers in the music industry as a band The Barry Sisters. Curriculum vitae Minnie and Clara were born to Herman and Esther Bagelman families, Jewish immigrants from Austria and Russia. They had two younger sisters, Celia and Julia. Their musical career began in the 1930s as a band The Bagelman Sisters. At the suggestion of my father, they decided to perform music from Europe, without US influence.

The first time the singers performed in public on the Uncle Norman radio show WLTH, still known as The Bagelman Sisters. At the end of the 1930s, they made their first recordings for Victor Records. They soon changed their stage name to Barry and became known as Yiddish jazz vocalists. They were in the United States, Israel and the Soviet Union.

They finished their careers in 1973, releasing their last album Our Way. Merna Pine died on October 31, 1976 in New York's Fifth Avenue Hospital because of a brain tumor. Claire Easton died on November 22, 2014 in Aventura. discography
