Ludwik Fischer


Ludwik Fischer (born 22 May 1916 in Zakopane, died 19 July 1977 in Zakopane) - Polish skier, international judge. Curriculum vitae

He graduated from the Zakopane junior high school, belonged to the ski section of AZS Kraków (since 1935), was an academic champion of Poland in the congress. In September 1939 he fought in the September campaign, taken prisoner, escaped and escaped to Zakopane. He participated in secret teaching and served in the Home Army, among others. He commanded a submarine platoon, codenamed "Crane", using the pseudonym "Turnia".

In 1949, he was one of the organizers of the re-launched Zakopane Scouting Skiing Club and his only post-war president (to liquidate the club by the authorities in 1949). In 1949, he was the founder of AZS Zakopane, his first president (1949-1950) then vice president (1956-1960 and 1963-1966). He was the chairman of the race committee (1963-1966) and a member of the board of PZN (1967-1973). From 1969 to 1973 he was vice-president of the Cracow Ski Association, from 1960-1961 and from 1964-1968 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the AZS. From 1959 to 1969, he chaired the FISU Winter Sports Committee. as a referee at the Winter Olympics and the world championships in skiing, he was also the head of Polish teams at the Winter Universiade. In 1962 he belonged to the organizing committee of the World Skiing Championships in Zakopane. In 1976 he became an Honorary Member of AZS.

In 1977, he published a book on Snow Chronicles with Joseph Kapnik and Marian Matzenaur. Bibliography
