Dimityr Stojanow (1928-1999)


Dimitri Ivanov Stojanov (Bulgarian Димитър Иванов Стоянов, born 7 November 1928 in Strażica, died December 7, 1999 in Sofia) was a Bulgarian Communist politician and Minister of the Interior of the People's Republic of Bulgaria (1973-1988). Curriculum vitae 1943-1944 was educated at a male gymnasium in Gorna Orjovica, later in the Watchtower. During the war he and his family helped the partisans; His father was killed for it by a criminal counter-guerrilla expedition. After the coup of September 9, 1944, he was active in the Communist youth movement. and later the First Secretary of the District Committee of DKMS (Dimitrovsk Communist Youth Union) in Gorna Orjovica, and from 1948 to 1953 he studied at the Historical Department of the State University of Sofia. From 1953 he was active in BPK, worked in the DKMS department, 1955-1958 was the first secretary of the DKMS Regional Committee in Veliko Tarnovo and member of the Regional Committee of BPK, 1958-1961 was the first secretary of the DKMS. Since 1971 Secretary and 1971-1973 First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the BPK in Veliko Tarnovo, from 7 April 1973 to 15 December 1988 Minister of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria. He was a colonel general. From December 13, 1988 to November 16, 1989, member of the Politburo and secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Poland, in November 1990, was excluded from the party.
