Wladyslaw Marchol


Władysław Marchoł pseud. Mazur (born July 24, 1913 in Nacpolsk, September 7, 1968) - Officer of the AL and MO.

He had secondary education, since 1930 he was a member of the ZMW "Wici", and from 1933 SL 1934-1935 he served in the military and became a corporal, in 1939 he participated in the defense war. Arrested in German captivity, in July 1940 he escaped from a POW camp and joined the Revolutionary Workers and Peasants Council "Hammer and Sick", since July 1941 a member of the District Committee of this organization. Since 1942 a member of the PPR, since July 1943 the commander of the Płock District GL and a member of the PPR District Committee. From August 1943, Lieutenant General GL, from January 1944, Captain AL. On July 9, 1944, AL representative in the conspiratorial National Council of Mazovia. Co-founder of the AL Brigade "Sons of the Land of Mazovia", who became commander in August 1944. He participated in many actions and battles with the Germans. In April 1945, he became the commander of the Operational Group "Lower Silesia" at the Provincial Headquarters in Wroclaw, then he was Deputy Commander of the Voivodship MO in Olsztyn and Cracow. In 1952 he graduated from the 2-year Party School at the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party. Retired in 1966, he was a member of the Party History Committee at the WKW PZPR.
