The Divine Enchantment


The Divine Enchantment. A Mystical Poem - an epic poem by John Neihardt, published in 1900. It was the debut of this author. The work is based on stories from Indian mythology. It consists of ten parts, entitled Prelude, Enchantment, Interlude, Birth of Brahm, Procreation, Preservation, Dissolution, Nirvana, Disenchantment and Postlude. It is characterized by a varied construction of the version. The author used both the white line (blank verse), the heroic dysthas (part VI) and the Spenser verse (part III, V, VII, VIII), the four-wing stanza with the cross rhyme (part VI), in some places the poet served Aliteration: O Evening, dusky daughter of the Day.
