Space marionettes

Space Cosmic Puppets - a science-fiction novel written by Philip K. Dick, one of his earliest, released for the first time in 1953. Its content is the struggle of the main character with the forces turning reality into a semblance. This is happening in the background of Good and Evil. Description of the plot

The main character, Ted Burton, decides to visit the city of his childhood. He comes to Millgate, Virginia, but he does not recognize anything in it. The city is different than it remembers, the buildings are old and have a different purpose, they do not even agree on street names, and among the passers-by they do not recognize anyone. A turning point is the moment when, when browsing the archives, he learns that ... he died, or someone with the same name and surname lives, who left on the day of his moving out of the city. Ted decides to solve the puzzle the more that perhaps it concerns his identity.

The book is intertwined with the current present in the beginnings of the author's work. He asks if it is really what we see, or is it just an illusion. Striving to answer this question leads to the observation that we are just observing the struggle between Good and Evil, and not necessarily the first to triumph. In the final part, both sides are again fighting. We also have a to the Christian religion, because we learn that the god representing good (in fact only about him Dick writes "He", as God) sends to his people his child, which is to protect them.
