Rana Dasgupta
Rana Dasgupta (born November 5, 1971 in Canterbury) is a British writer and essayist for Indian origin.
He studied at Balliol College in Oxford. He currently resides in Delhi. As a prose writer he debuted in the 2005 Tokyo Cancelled novel. Its form refers to the Canterbury Tales - the heroes are travelers who are waiting for the plane to depart and tell the passengers various stories. In 2009, Dasgupta's second novel, Solo, was released, also translated into Polish. The main character of the book is a Bulgarian intellectual, whose fates allow the author to sketch the history of Bulgaria in the 20th century. The book was honored with Commonwealth Writers' Prize. novels
