Ramiz Kovaçi


Ramiz Kovaçi (born 22 March 1931 in Kruja, died in 1994 in Tirana) - Albanian singer, baritone. Curriculum vitae

The son of Jahji Kovacchi. For two years he studied at Harry Fultz's technical school in Tirana, singing in a school choir. During summer holidays he worked in one of the hotels in Durres, where he also played and sang for guests. His talent was appreciated by a doctor from Tirana Hamdi Sulçebe, who took Ramiza to audition for the Jordan High School Artistic Mission in Tirana. He was admitted to school and studied vocal arts in Mihala Ciko's class. He continued his studies at the conservatory in Sofia (class of Professor Brembarov). He specialized in operatic singing at the Roman Academy of Santa Cecilia. On his return he became the first soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theater. He was one of the founders of the Tirana Institute of Arts.

In 1968 he won the 6th edition of Festivali and Këngës. The victory brought him the song Shqiponje e lire, sung in duet with Vaçe Zela. By the authorities of Albania honored by the Artist of the People (Artist and Popullit). Awarded the Order of the Frashëri First Class and the Order of Nderi and Kombit (Honor of the Nation).
