Banker
The Banking Arbiter, an institution operating at the Polish Banks Association, is established to out-of-court dispute resolution between consumers, bank customers and banks regarding monetary claims for non-performance or improper performance by the bank of banking activities or other activities for the consumer.
The Banker Arbitrator is appointed for a 4-year term. A person who meets the following conditions may be appointed as the Bank's Arbitrator:
The Bank Arbitrator deals with complaints filed only by natural persons, which contain contracts not related to economic activity. Only cases concerning banks belonging to the Polish Banks Association or those which have submitted a statement on respecting the decisions of the Arbitrator are considered and the value of the dispute does not exceed 8 thousand. zł. The bankruptcy rulings are final for the bank, but they do not have to be final for the consumer who can bring legal proceedings to the court.
