Adam from Tuszyna


Adam from Tuszyna, Tussinus (died January 1, 1546 in Tarnów) - professor at the Academy of Cracow, astronomer, astrologer, doctor of medicine, dean of the philosophical faculty (1539-about 1541). Curriculum vitae

He came from Tarnow, probably from the bourgeois family. He studied at the Faculty of Art (Liberal Arts) of the Cracow Academy (from 1513), obtaining a baccalaureate in 1514 (the liberal arts college in 1526). In the years 1527-1533 he lectured as docent-extraneus in the philosophical faculty (among others Aristotle's works, Ars maior Donata, Elements of Euclid, Astrology of Alcabitius.) From 1539 to 1541 he held the rank of Dean of the Faculty. Probably in Italy in 1533.

He is the author of several almanacs (partially published and partially preserved in manuscripts), including: Liber ad erectiones figurarum spectans (with later historical notes on the history of Tarnów) and Judicium et significatio comete. Bibliography
