Mikhail Tichonrawov
Mikhail Ivanovich Tichonovich, Russian Михаил Иванович Тихонравов (born 23 January 1891, 4 May 1970 in Glenn Cove) is a Russian military colonel, emigrant combat veteran, battalion commander in the Russian Corps of Defense. World War II, publicist.
In 1908 he graduated from cadet corps in Voronezh and in 1911 he was a cavalry school in Jelizawa. Served in the 20 Dragon Regiment. Then he moved to the 10th Hussar Regiment in the rank of captain. He participated in the First World War. In August 1918 he joined the newly formed White Army. He was in command of the Ingmarious Hussar Squadron, in July 1919 as a lieutenant colonel of the Ingermanian Hussars Regiment. In the autumn of 1919, he became commander of the 1st Cavalry Regiment. From the spring of 1920 he commanded 5, and then 1st Cavalry Regiment. In mid-October 1920, with the White troops, he was evacuated from Crimea to Gallipoli. He emigrated to the SHS Kingdom. In Belgrade he was the president of the 10th Huskies Regiment. He graduated from the Higher Military Science Courses. After the occupation of Yugoslavia by the German army in April 1941, he joined the newly formed Russian Protective Corps. He was promoted to major. He commanded the battalion. At the end of the war he stayed in a camp in Austria, where he organized and then chaired the local group of the Russian Federation (ROWS). In 1948 he emigrated to Morocco. In 1949 he settled in Casablanca. Since 1955 he was chairman of the local branch (ROWS). He then moved to the USA. Since 1967 he has collaborated with the editorial office of Wojennaja Byl, writing articles on the subject of history. Bibliography
