History
The name of the bridge comes from the name Latinluk (Latin Quarter), which was inhabited by Croatian Christians in the Ottoman period. The bridge was founded by merchant Abdullah Aga Briga in 1798 at the site of the former wooden bridge (from 1541) and another stone (from 1565), destroyed during the floods in the early 18th century. After the war, the bridge was named Principa - the assassin who shot the Archduke Ferdinand. After the end of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the bridge has regained its historic name.
