Henry VI (palatinate)

Henry VI (born 1195, died 25 April / 1 May 1214) - palatinate from 1212 from the Welfów dynasty. Curriculum vitae Henry was the only son of the Rhine palatine Henry V (son of the mighty Henry the Lion) and Agnieszka (the daughters of Konrad's palatine from the imperial family of the Hohenstaufen). He grew up in the court of King John of England without the Earth, where he had stayed at least since 1209. In 1211 or 1212 he returned to Germany, and his father, engaged in the Welfish conflict with the Hohenstaufen on the side of Otto IV Welf, gave him in 1212. Palatinate. In November of the same year, Henry married Mathilda (d. 1267), daughter of Prince Brabant Henry I (perhaps the Palatine delegation took place during the wedding ceremony). Henryk was a supporter of the Staufs. Soon he died, perhaps poisoned, just before his match for the knight. He left no descendants. The Palatinate did not return to the hands of his father, and he passed into the hands of the Wittelsbach (the new palatine was Ludwik I Bavarian, the father-in-law of younger sister Henry). Henry's widow was re-married to Count Floris IV of Holland. Bibliography
