Club of Naturalists
Club of Naturalists (former Lubuski Club of Naturalists) - a non-governmental environmental organization, dealing with nature conservation and ecological education. The club was founded in 1983, formally was registered in 1989. The club is located in Świebodzin, the area of activity is all Poland, but especially Western Poland. Activities of the club include: nature inventories, nature conservation planning, organizing conferences, symposia, trainings and workshops, opinions on legal acts.
The projects implemented by the club include: implementation of the Natura 2000 network in Poland, protection of xerothermic grasslands, old varieties of fruit trees and weeds. An important sphere of activity is the protection of wetlands, especially peat bogs. Numerous wetland protection and small retention projects are implemented in cooperation with forest districts. In the years 2004-2007, a large project for protection of Baltic peat in Poland was financed by the European Commission under the LIFE financial instrument. The club also conducts nature exhibitions and tourist information points. Meadow Museum in Owczary, where there is its field station. The second field station is being built in Uniemyl in the Kamienna Góra.
There is also a Club of Naturalists Publishing House, which publishes books and brochures on the subject of nature, including guides. The club also publishes a scientific quarterly, dedicated to nature and its protection - the "Nature Survey" and the "Bociek" newsletter. He runs a natural bookstore.
