Bearshare - one of the P2P clients under a freeware license (adware version 5). It allows users to exchange files between users. Designed by Free Peers, Inc. and sold to MusicLab, LLC.

The Gnutella protocol has been discontinued since the release of version 6, but instead operates on the same network as iMesh. Therefore sources are available in iMesh and eliminated as the source of Gnutella and Gnutelli2 clients' files.

Bearshare version 5 includes additional applications built into the installer (MyGlobalSearch Bar-spy: spyware, ads). These additional applications can spy, show advertisements or change the user's computer settings. When installing newer versions of Bearshare, the user is informed about them, but these warnings are mostly ignored, which is tantamount to allowing the installation of spyware.

Bearshare version 5+ (all legal versions) in accordance with the manufacturer's assurances do not contain adware or spyware. There is also a Lite BearShare version 5 version without ads and spyware.

It's possible to purchase a monthly subscription that allows you to download any amount of music with guaranteed high speed (over 15 million songs available for download), as well as uploading downloaded files to a CD or DVD using BearShare. It is also possible to buy premium tracks in MP3 format separately, without subscription.
