Slovanska dolina (Slovanska dolina valley) - valley in the western (so-called Luczańska) part of Mala Fatra in the Western Carpathians in Slovakia. The name comes from the village of Slovany.

Position

The Slovanska valley is a valleys. It lies on the south-east side of the main ridge of Luczańska Mała Fatra. Its outlet to the Turczańska Basin is located at an altitude of approx. 480 m above sea level. on west from the village of Valča in the district of Martin. The upper closure of the valley is a fragment of the main ridge of Luczańska Mala Fatra on the section from Hnilicka Kýčery (1217 m above sea level) in the north to the Jankova peak (1163 m above sea level) in the south.

From the north-eastern side the valley limits the ridge descending from Hnilické Kýčera through the hills of Javorina (1053 m) and Pivnica (830 m), while from the south-west it rises from Jankovej towards the wider Kýčera (1095 m above sea level) and going further east in a group of hills called Hôrki (634 m above sea level). Characteristic

Starting from the outlet, the Slovanska Valley rises westwards and then north-west. It has a length of about 7.5 km and a maximum width (ridge to back) of approx. 2.2 km. It flows down the Slovansky stream. Its slopes are quite steep, rarely dismembered by short side valleys. The entire valley is wooded, only few small glades appear along the stream. Near the former Smradľavá vodka forester's lodge at the bottom of the valley, in the bed of the stream, the source of intensely sulfuric mineral water, called "Smradľavá voda", is struck. From the village of Valča to the forest service house in a place called Krčma, the bottom of the valley runs a paved road (above Smradľavej vody closed for motor vehicles). Bibliography
