Franciszek Stefan Raczyński

Franciszek Stefan Raczyński (born 1648, died 1689) is a Polish magnate, the son of Zygmunt. The division of the inheritance after his first marriage contributed to the separation of the Raczyński family into two lines: Wielkopolska and Courland. His first wife - Anna Urszula Heidenstein (from a wealthy German family, probably a lady of the court of Queen Eleanor Habsburuanki, wife of Michal Korybut Wiśniowecki), entering marriage in 1680, received from the queen a gift of jewelery with diamonds, including him to their already large collection of jewels. She died five years later - in 1685. She left Zygmunt's son (born 1685) and probably two daughters: Katarzyna and Eleonora. Raczyński was married in 1685, unknown to her in historical sources, by Mrs. Powalska. He had one son with her - Andrzej (born 1686). Sam died in 1689, and at the time of his death none of these children was under 18 years of age (care was taken by his uncle Jan, and after his death his father's older brothers: Michał and Piotr). After reaching the age of majority, Zygmunt and Andrzej started (on behalf of their siblings) a dispute over the property of the parents, and especially about the maternal jewels, about which further fate is unknown. The Raczynski family shared at that time two separate and decadent lines: Kurland (impoverished) and Wielkopolska (living in riches).
