Pyrometer - a measuring instrument for contactless temperature measurement. It works based on the analysis of the heat radiation emitted by the examined bodies.
All bodies with a temperature above the absolute zero emit thermal radiation of similar characteristics known as black body radiation.
Simple pyrometers measure the amount of energy emitted by measuring the temperature of the element to which the radiation is falling. The measuring range is 400 ° C-4000 ° C. For measuring temperatures above 600 ° C, optical pyrometers are used, where the brightness of the object is compared with the brightness of the object (eg filament).
In high-end pyrometers measuring low temperatures, mirror optics are used, analogous to those used in cameras. SLR. In pyrometers, where mirror optics are used, the pyrometer is directed to the measuring field in the same way as in traditional cameras - the operator sees the object through the window. In some measurement solutions, the laser pointer turns on. The problem with the proper setting of the pyrometer is not found in optical fiber pyrometers, where radiation penetrates into the fiber at the radiation surface.
Pyrometers use two groups of detectors: thermal and photoelectric.
The pyrometer is used by the fire department to measure the temperature in the event of a lack of access to the heat source.
