Official stamp (Poland)

Official stamp - a metal stamped round stamp containing in the middle the image of the eagle established as the State Emblem of the Republic of Poland, and in the rim the inscription corresponding to the name of the entity authorized to use the official seal. The official stamp of the commune, poviat, voivodship self-government or a union of local government units may also be a seal containing in the middle, instead of the image of the eagle established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland, the coat of arms of the commune, poviat or voivodeship respectively. The seal with the coat of arms can not be placed on official documents in matters of government administration. Application

The official seals are authorized for: state organs, government administration bodies, municipalities, inter-municipal associations and their organs, poviats, poviat unions and their organs, poviat and communal unions and their organs, metropolitan unions and their organs, self-governments of voivodships and their organs, courts, prosecutors and court bailiffs, local appeal boards, regional chambers of accounts, organizational units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, organizational units of the Police, Border Guard, Customs Service, State Fire Service and National Civil Defense, organizational units of the Prison Service, schools public, non-public schools with the powers of public schools, public higher education institutions, non-public higher education institutions and other entities, if specific provisions authorize them to use the image of an eagle. The official stamp is used to authenticate documents of particular importance (which form the basis for undertaking specific legal actions), such as, for example, administrative decisions, school certificates, and performance titles. According to the common office habit - the official stamp is placed under the text of the magazine in the middle, i.e. in the so-called seal place (m.p.), and the signature seal and the signature on the right from this place. If the letter is of small weight - the place of the stamp remains empty, and the signature seal and the signature are placed on the right side of this empty space.

Official seals may have different diameters, of which the 36 mm diameter is most commonly used. A special version of the official seal is an ID card with a diameter of 20 mm.

Monopoly on the production of official seals has from 1927 to still Mennica Polska.

The official stamp should be kept in an iron cabinet or casket under the care of a designated employee of an organizational unit, and its immediate loss should be immediately reported to the superior, the Polish Mint and the Police or the prosecutor's office.
