Jan Librach


Jan Librach (born February 29, 1904, died on March 13, 1973 in New York) - Polish diplomat, Sovietologist, activist of the Polish community.

Curriculum vitae

From 1926 he worked in the Polish foreign service, in the years 1935-1939 he was the first secretary of the Polish embassy in Paris. From 1939 a soldier of the Polish Army in France. From June 1940 in the Presidium of the Council of Ministers. He was the initiator of the so-called continental action. In the period 1941-1944 he was the head of the Central Continental Action Office in the Ministry of the Interior. In the years 1944-1945 head of the department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London. In the years 1950-1954 he was the deputy minister of foreign affairs Polish government in exile. In the years 1969-1973 Jan Librach was the executive director of the Polish Institute of Science in America.
