Dorothy Ripley
Dorothy Ripley (born 1767 in Whitby - February 10, 1832) - an English preacher, missionary and writer. In 1801 she came to the USA, where she spent thirty years on missionary work.
Her father was William Ripley, a close associate of John Wesley.
On January 12, 1806, she delivered a sermon during a service that took place at the Capitol Building. The US president Thomas Jefferson, among others, participated in the service. Bibliography Authoritative control (person):
