From August 1938 to July 1939 he was the chief of staff of the Kalinski Military District, from July 1939 to June 1940 the chief of staff of the 2nd Independent Red Army Banner, from November 4, 1939 in the rank of a cast, and from June 4, 1940, Major General. From June to July 1940 he was the Chief of Staff of the 2nd Blagoveshchenska Army, from July 11 to November 15, 1940 the Chief of Staff of the Zabajkal Military District, from November 15, 1940 to July 12, 1945 the Chief of Staff of the Zabajkalski Front, from September 1, 1943 to the rank of Lieutenant General. He participated in the war with Japan in 1945. On September 10, 1945, he became the chief of staff and in January 1947 also the first deputy commander of the Zabajkal Military District (until May 15, 1953), later he was the commander of this military district (until December 1956), on May 31, 1954 he was promoted to general Colonel, from December 1956 to 1965 he was the first deputy head of the Chief Human Resources Board of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR.
