He was born into a Jewish working family. In 1936 he graduated from the technical school in Kowno, later he was an NCO in the Lithuanian army, after the annexation of Lithuania by the USSR, he lived and worked in the Uzbek SSR at the railway station. From 1940 he served in the Red Army, in 1941 he graduated from the infantry school, from June 1941 he fought in the war with Germany, from 1943 he belonged to the WKP (b). In the battles of the Pojegów region on October 11-13, 1944, as a commander of the 249th Infantry Regiment of the 16th Lithuanian Infantry Division of the 2nd Army of the Guard 1 of the Baltic Front, he killed many enemy soldiers and repulsed the German counterattack; he was wounded then. After the war, he graduated from the Military Academy Frunze, head of the military cathedral of the Vilnius State University, in 1972 he was transferred to the rank of a colonel. In 1983 he left for Israel, where he was active in the Israeli Invalids Union and wrote memoirs. Honors
