Maurice Couyba
Maurice Couyba Charles-Maurice Couyba, pseudonym Maurice Boukay (born 1 January 1866 in Dampierre-sur-Salon, died 18 November 1931 in Paris) is a French politician, poet and literary critic.
He began his political career in 1897 as a Member of the Upper Saône Department. From June 27, 1911 until January 14, 1912, he was the Minister of Industry in the government of Joseph Caillaux, and from June 13 to August 26, 1914, the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare under René Viviani. In 1925, after his political career, he was appointed director of the School of Decorative Arts (École des arts décoratifs). Under the pseudonym Maurice Boukay, an anagram of his name, he published several volumes of poetry. He wrote mostly the lyrics of cheerful songs about youth and love. Amongst them was Stances à Manon (Strofki do Manon). He published articles in "Gil Blas", "L'Événement" and "Revue bleue." Main works
