Luisa's belt

Fragment of a park Luisa Forest - a forest park located in Człuchów, on the grounds of the former Teutonic castle.

The beginnings of the park's establishment date back to 1800, when the first squares in the Kujawy peninsula were established. At the castle (earlier, in 1792, an outflow from Lake Miejski was dug out, which reduced its water level and facilitated access to the peninsula). In 1807 in Człuchów, a Prussian queen, Luiza, who was particularly fond of the beauty of the old peninsula, came to Tylza. In 1811 the inhabitants called the peninsula Luisa Hill. In the 1920s the Association of Friends of Nature was established, which was one of the main goals of beautifying the park. In 1826 the park grounds were under the management of the city. Since 1854, the City Beautification Society operated, which made further investments in the area of the Luisa Forest. In 1952 the park was handed over to the management of the State Forests, and in 1991 the municipality was handed over (still as a forest). Since 2006 it has re-established the park status. In 2008 it was entered in the register of monuments. It is an English park with small architecture. sundeck and gazebo.
