Józef Haensel


Józef Mieczysław Haensel (born February 10, 1924 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki) - Polish party and state activist, deputy to the Sejm of the Polish People's Republic of the 8th term (1980-1982). Curriculum vitae

Son of Mieczysław and Zofia. He obtained higher economic education. He joined the Polish United Workers' Party on December 22, 1952. In the years 1953-1955 he was the vice-chairman of the Committee for the Unity of the Nation in Stalinogród, and in 1956 he was the vice-chairman of the Board of the Provincial Union of Polish Youth in Katowice. He was active in the Polish Scouting Association. From November 1957, he was a member of the Provincial Committee of PZPR in Katowice, where he was deputy head and department head, and a member of the executive. From May 27, 1975 to May 10, 1980, he served as the first secretary of the PZPR Municipal Committee in Katowice. He was also the chairman of the Municipal National Council there. In 1980, he was elected to the Sejm of the 8th Polish parliament in the Katowice district. He sat on the Commission of Administration, Local Economy and Environmental Protection as well as the Building and Construction Materials Industry Committee. In January 1982 he renounced his mandate.
