Generalization of the stimulus
Generalization of the stimulus (Latin generalization - general, general) - the phenomenon that the response to an experimental stimulus is also manifested in relation to many other stimuli present in the experimental environment (which the experimenter may not even know, while the animal observes them). Counteracting this phenomenon, if necessary, the experimenter performs discriminatory conditioning until he is sure that the expected response only takes place on the right stimulus. No differentiation conditions lead to paradoxical behavior described as a magical relationship.
