Andriej Andronowicz Fomin (Russian Андрей Андронович Фомин, 1918-1983) - Soviet diplomat. Curriculum vitae
He belonged to the WKP (b), 1943 graduated from the Mikołajowski Shipbuilding Institute, from 1946 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, including 1946-1954 at the UN Department of Foreign Affairs. In 1954-1955 he was First Secretary of the USSR Embassy to the United Nations, 1955-1957 to the Permanent Representative of the USSR to the United Nations, 1957-1959, Senior Advisor to the United Nations, and July 1960 to the USSR in Congo-Léopoldville (now Democratic Republic of the Congo). From 1960 to December 1961, he served as advisor to the USSR State Department, from December 1961 to November 21, 1962, a USSR Ambassador to Brazil, and from November 21, 1962 to September 30, 1965, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR in Brazil. From September 1965 to 1967 he served as deputy secretary general of the USSR Foreign Ministry, from 1967 to February 1973 as head of the South Asia Department of the USSR, and from February 27, 1973 to February 20, 1973 as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR in Bangladesh.
