Wanda Malewska


Wanda Malewska, born in Jakimowska (born November 30, 1904 in Warsaw, died September 10, 1995 in Warsaw) is a Polish librarian, longtime employee of the National Library.

In 1926 she graduated from one of the Warsaw junior high schools. She worked as a teacher, then a clerk; At the same time, she studied Polish philology at the University of Warsaw, where she graduated in 1934. In 1938 she went to the province. She returned to Warsaw after the war and on December 15, 1945 she began work in the Department of Periodicals of the National Library. She attended a librarian course and successfully passed the first category exam in the state library service, then in 1947 she was transferred to the Department (then the Department) of Newer Prints; Since 1949 she has been the deputy head of this department, for some time she has also directed its section on cataloging, leading training for young librarians. She participated in editorial work on Polish writers (1956), prepared in the National Library. He retired on March 31, 1970 as a senior custodian.

She was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland. Bibliography
