Gilles Blaser


Gilles Blaser (born December 16, 1952 in Genthod) is a Swiss cross country cyclist, double world medalist. Career

Gilles Blaser's first career success came in 1978, when he won a silver medal in the amateur category at the cross-country championship in Amorebieta. Only Belgian Roland Liboton was ahead of him. The World Cup in Saccolongo took place the following year in the elite category. Only better is his countryman Albert Zweifel, and third place was Robert Vermeire from Belgium. Blaser was among the seventh in the 1982 World Cup in Lanarvily. He never performed at the Olympic Games. In 1984 he became vice-chancellor of Switzerland and ended his career three years later.
