Tomasz Komorowski


Tomasz Andrzej Komorowski (born November 12, 1963) - Polish mathematician, employee of the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Curriculum vitae

In 1987 he graduated from mathematical studies at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, in 1992 he studied mathematics at Michigan State University. In 1994 he defended his PhD thesis Limit Theorems for Motions in a Random Field, written under the direction of George Papanicolau at the New York University (in 1998 he nostrified it in Poland). In the years 1998-2011 he worked at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. In 2001, he was habilitated at the Jagiellonian University on the basis of his thesis Limits theorem for diffusion in random centers, in 2008 he received the title of professor of mathematical sciences. Since 2011 he has been working at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

He has been a member of the PAN Committee of Mathematics since 2002.

In his research he deals with m.in. probability and stochastic processes.

In 2011, he was awarded the Prize Stefan Banach. Bibliography
