Three-support vault
Three-sided vault - a type of Gothic vault appearing in Polish territories from the mid-fourteenth century. Another name is the jump vault or the Piast Vault. It was a modification of the cross-ribbed vault, consisting of adding a fifth support - three supports were placed opposite the pair of supports. Probably the first vault of this type was used around 1346 over the eastern span in the presbytery of the cathedral in Krakow and in the years 1341 - 1371 over the aisles of the church of St. Cross in Wroclaw. They can also be found in the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Sand in Wroclaw (1334 - 1390).
